Just the fact the kid was the one who gave the heart shaped balloon to the riot police, it showed how a simple kid even knows violence isn't always the option. The photographer did a great job due to showing both before and after images focusing on the heart shaped balloon and riot police. I picked this photo because of all the emotion gained from looking at a father on his knees in silence remembering his son. The photographer focused in on Robert Peraza and on the memorial that contained his son's name while also blurring out the background pedestrians to give it a more personal and private feeling.
